  • New Grass Tutorial step by step with displacement

I make a simple tutorial. I hope works for you guys and can share different options for a better solution If you can find that. I make some simple for all. I am just a beginner, but I believe in share knowledge is the best way to create a better community.

I attach the model in sketchup, the tutorial in PDF and the JPG files to make it happened.

Please put all your comments and results for all.

    Kelper.

i think this looks good.. especially when you put this away from the camera.. its really hard to create a super real grass with displacement. yet many resort for proxy or fur...in max vray proxy and vray fur are supported.

    have you seen this? http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=4810.0
damien did this script for vray rhino... it acted like fur..

I think is great, but why they disn't release a "Sketchup Hair 0.1.0 - First Public Alpha Released" only for Rhino?...I think we are more users of Sketchup VRAY right now than Rhino and around the world using sketchup. I hope they came out quick with the release...

There is currently no V-Ray hair or fur plugin in development for Rhino or SketchUp. We do plan to add this feature eventually, but it will not be available in the next release of V-Ray for Rhino or V-Ray for SketchUp.

Thanks for clearing that up. Can you tell if proxies will be available in the next release?

We aren't planning on it at the moment.

Our goal right now, is to get our new version to work just like our current product does. There may be a few improvements and features along the way, but there shouldn't be any major improvements, other than a faster render time. The version after this next huge overhaul, should start to include new V-Ray plugins and features, but we have not yet committed to which ones will be focused on first. Grass and Fur are on the list of features to consider, but they haven't been chosen yet.
              Best regards,

I make the closest deal with Grass, this is the sample:

I hope you like the result.

PS. This is my 2 cents to the forum... ;D

as i have told you many times,, anything curve displacement is better...so my advised if you want your curve, dont use plane but rather use curve surfaces..flatten them using scale...
