    hello,

the dpi is resolution dependant. im not sure on the math but 800 x 600 will always have the dpi. its like saying i have a square 10 x 10cm and i want to fit more then a 100sq cm in that box.... you cant.

use this link to workout the resolution required to meet your dpi needs

    hope this helps

Perhaps I was mistaken, but previously worked in Artlantis and there could be seen dpi option to choose .. I set the resolution and select the number, for example - 300 dpi

      hmm

      thx,

Re: How To change 72 dpi to 300 dpi??

        hi again,

thats always been my understanding of it... but i may be wrong. The only way i could illustrate this would be via Photoshop. If you have an image open, and change the dpi from 72 which is default to 300... notice how the image suddenly gets massive...

As for Artlantis.... i have no experience with.... but maybe the feature you speak of is just a handy calculation tool like the website link is to get the correct sized image?

        Just thoughts

Have a read of this: http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/mythdpi.html

DPI is a relative unit - a legacy indicator to how large an image should be printed - If you want an 800x600px image to be 300DPI you must print it 2.6"×2" ( 800/300 × 600/300 ).
So what you need is work out how large do you want to print your image.

If you want a A3 print of your render in 300DPI, then:

          A3 Landscape:
          420mm × 297mm
          16.54" × 11.69"

          Width: 16.54 * 300 = 4962px
          Height: 11.69 * 300 = 3507px

Now, if you should take that 4962 × 3507px image and print it on a A1 paper instead, then your effective DPI is ~150.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
