I see that VFB is now functional! That's great.

Before I purchase, I have a question pertaining to Linear Workflow. I have been playing around with the trail version but cannot seem to create a PSD file of the same gamma as my render. I use Max 2.2 gamma correction with only Output gamma set to 1. But even when I choose to override the gamma to 2.2, I get a very dark PSD file. Am I missing something?
Linear workflow is supported and the way I test here myself too. Sounda like you have only the display gamma that is used for the viewport set to 2.2. psd-manager uses the 3ds Max Output Gamma that is also set in the Preferences Dialog for 8 and 16-bit PSD files. There is no override option for it just an on/off toggle in the Advanced Options dialog of psd-manager. 32-bit PSD files are always written without a gamma correction (Gamma=1.0), which is how Photoshop expects these HDR files (you can only assign a linearized ICC Profiles in Photoshop). This is also explained a bit more detailed in the documentation (User Reference > Miscellaneous > Gamma).

Please also note the bug in the Advanced Options dialog in version 3.1 that I posted about in the 3.1 thread.

    • My Max gamma preferences are set like this: Display Gamma 2.2, effect colors and materials checked, Bitmap Input = 2.2 and Output = 1.0 (Typical LW settings).

      • Is there a trick to get the Frambuffer working in 3.1? If i use the VRay Framebuffer and DR then only one pc is rendering the buckets, i can see the bucktes of the other slaves but they dont render and duplicate after a while and never finish to render. See attached screenshot, as you can see there are a lot of the same buckets which wont render.
Using the max frameuffer works as usual, also using the vray framebuffer without the psd manager and dr works, but as soon as i activate the psd manager it wont render how its supposed to be.
        Can someone help?

        • This happens if you forgot to install psd-manager on the DR-slaves or have an older version installed on the slaves. (The latest version is 3.2 by the way.)

If you need a quick temporary solution until you have time to install it on the slaves you can also set a render output filename in the 3ds max render output dialog.

          Best Regards,
