  • Animation has jaggies problem - please help !

It's been a long time since I have used 3ds Max and in the last couple of weeks not only have I had to relearn a ton of stuff but I've also had to learn VRay for the first time as well

I've created a short 7sec animation but it's suffering terribly with jaggies on the edges (of a kitchen unit) and I don't know how to get rid of or minimize them.

I have Image Sampler Antialiasing set to Adaptive DMC with the filter set to Mitchell-Netravali and settings all at the default, but the playback on this is terrible (as far as antialiasing is concerned).

Am I looking in the right place ?? Please could someone give me some short guidance (I know Vray and 3ds Max can't be learnt in a day !).

    Kind regards,

    Jez

for animation, Quadratic works better as its more of a "softer" filter where the one you using is a "hard" filter
      also, motionblur will help
      Kind Regards,

Thanks Guys for the guidance - I'll take a look at other filters especially the Quadratic one.

        Many thanks.

Looks to me more like a codec problem. Do these edges also appear in the file sequence ?
