You can actually turn on OpenCL with this little driver hack, so you can get V-Ray RT GPU up and running on your Mac's running Lion with an Nvidia card...

as I mentioned in the post there, AMD and Apple will have a fix for RT GPU in Mountain Lion. It's too late for them to roll it into Lion, as ML is coming out in June. Hopefully the next Mac Pro will be coming with a Radeon 7970 - they are amazing for OpenCL.
