What GI, and other render setting should I concentrate on to get a good quick render?

when you say a good quick render what sort of scene .... how many polys?.... how many lights ?
i dont think you can generalize that much ..... there is no quick and fast answer to good renders.
give us an idea what sort of scene

well its quiet a medium poly model, two lights, I was just wondering, because when I turn on GI it slows down some.
