    Hi guys,

    Probably not the correct part of the forum to be posting this but does anyone know a good tutorial on using displacement and opacity mapping to generate 3D objects? I remember one a while back where a guy was creating a DNA type strand using a lofted object but I can't remember where I found it!

    Answers on a postcard!

    i've done a similar thing before to make a 3D wire mesh by using the water level to get rid of the holes and mirroring the surface, then pushing it back to the level of the water level to make the object appear solid.

    is that what you mean?
