Hi there, i try to write some kind of compendium for the usage of expressions.
The problem is i am only used to expressions concerning the
Softimage XSI package.


The books which came with my max packages dont cover them
well enough.

So any source or information, tutorials webpages books etc.
are more then only welcome!

If u got tips and tricks and want them to share ur free to go


I will keep this thread updated.


The compendium will be in two different languages
German and English.

Good initiative! I love Expressions, although in Max they are a bit limited. The Script controller gives you more flexibility, but is less interactive and intuitive than the Expression controller. A blend between the Expression and MaxScript controller would be ideal.

What I'd love to see is practical examples of applications for each type of Expression function. I know how to use a sinus and the random function, but there are much more functions, like the min() and max() functions etc. etc..

Will you update your findings on a website we can check out?

My plan is to have a link on my homepage... relaunch in a few weeks. (We r working on a film in australia right now and will be back in Germany around end of march)

Homepage... and the final release is a perfect pdf.

But i hope i"ll get more responses.

Ur idea is quite what i thought! I started a few examples. But there is a lack of time right now.
That is why i started these thread. collecting info and then start manage them all...
