  • Neutral Lighting Rigs

Here's a tutorial on creating neutral lighting rigs in vray to help test and vet your materials before putting them in scene lighting (comes with example rigs):

Instead of needing to use Cuneyt's ColorCorrect plugin, you can also use a VRayColor map and apply 2.2 gamma correction that way - something I need to remember to do more often...

Thanks for the tip, although I'm using the same materials with a number of different renderers at home, so I'm trying to keep the materials somewhat renderer agnostic. It still astounds me that the max colorcorrection doesn't have easily accessible gamma controls.

          Hey Neil

          Thanks for this.
There are a great many things that astound me that have not been included in Max yet. Many of them not complex at all. Ha ha

Yup, so many of the most useful things max could have would probably take a day to code. But they ain't doing it :/
