      Right here it is,

Its a material made with maps i found on this forum so don't be offended if you see a material that was made by one of you. This forum is a great place to find tips and resources and i just made a good material a bit better.

      Greetings,

Hello. I dont know if the pool water material has been resolved yet, but just in case, here's a rendering I've produced a few days ago and if anyone wants, I can upload materials for the water or whatever else.

thats a very nice render you got there?

Yeah upload the water that would be great.

                  Couple of questions.
How did you make hte bushes along the top? was it just displacement on a box?
How did you create the vines up the wall effect? is it all geometry or a good looking mapped plane?

Hi DaForce! Thanks for compliments about the rendering.

Here's a link to a matlib of the poolwater: http://www.geocities.com/anton980/Re.../PoolWater.zip
It's a very basic material, but it works nicely.

The bushes on the top of the image is a texture with an alpha channel mapped on a plane with slight displacement to emphasize it's volume.

The rose bushes are series of planes (one for green leaves, one for red roses, one for white ones, and the lattice) with some very basic modeling on it (again, for volume and shadows) and fairly high-res textures and displacement maps to accentuate the leaves and flowers.

Let me know if you cannot download the file, and I'll find a different place to upload it to.

                    Anton

                      thanks Anton!!

                      poolwater downloaded perfectly!

Well i must say for planes, they come out very realistically. especially the climbing rose!

Did you make the rose/leaf textures by hand of download/buy them?

                        Hello!
It was a collage of different images. The most realism comes from the volume of the model given to it by displacement maps.

When redenering out an animation where only the camera and water is moving, is there a way to use a precalculated irradience map? The water dosen't cast/receive shadows so that dosen't matter but the caustics seem to need to be rendered every frame. Any ideas?

Hi Matty. Sorry I didnt respond sooner. If you're having problems with the material I've uploaded: To get it to show in your material editor you need to:

                                1. press "get material" button
                                2. check "Mtl library" option on the left side of the window
                                3. press "open" and select that material from where you've saved it
                                4. drag and drop it in any slot in your material editor.

If you already know it, sorry for repeating.

I didnt use any caustics in my rendering, and that material works nicely without them. If you definately need caustics, I've seen a lot of threads here that explain how to set them up. Or you can fake them with animated textures. Hope this helps!
