  • map/material projection on a surface with spline as boundary

    hi,

i try to explain it a little more exactly...

i have a surface and i want to map different materials onto this surface with the help of splines (z-projected). i don´t want to make black/white maps to project material.
so i want a material only to show up in the inner or outer area of the spline.

woul´d be cool if it works just like multiscatter with borderspline/borderbehaviour...

    any plugin? any idea.

    thanks for help

Something along the lines of vray distance tex perhaps...

Cameramap Gemini is also a really good max plugin for projections but may not specifically suit your needs. What are you trying to do?

      thanks for help DPS,

      distancetex is worth a try.
we have quite big terrain with the wish of quite good detail if you´re near. (about 5000 m x 5000 m) we have plane splines that define the special parts of materials on terrain.
thing is to render B/W maps for blending (maybe in smaller quadrants to rise the amount of detail of transition between the different materials...) or to have faster solution for the problem )

i will have a look into gemini now.
