Some sort of shellac, some sort of carpaint

    Hi Da_elf,

I am new to this forum as a member, but I am lurking quiet some time now. Due to your and other members help I learned much about vray. So I am sad to see, that there is no one who has an answer to your question.

May be some kind of shellac oder carpaint material will help you cause thats what a sink look like. Compared to a carpaint, I would reduce the shellac part a little bit.

Will you share your actual material with a description what you donĀ“t like on it?

Hopefully some other, more professionel member of this forum will have a better tip for you.

    Greetings
    BLADE

      Da_elf,

I usually use a material with almost white diffuse; a falloff (fresnel set between 2 and 2.5) in reflection slot at 50% - 75%, with glossy (0.8 - 0.9) reflection.

      Hope this helps.

If you want to fake the outer surface translucency often seen on ceramics, you can throw a falloff set to shadow/light in the diffuse slot. Set it to go from your lit colour (white'ish), to your shadowed, and ease the curve so the lit shading creeps subtly into the dark part. Tinting either the dark part or a point in between the two to a colour/hue (either warmer or colder) often works to liven the effect up.
          Signing out,
          Christian
