  • render elements tutorial for VfR and PS

I couldn't find a tutorial for compositing render elements that was specific to VfR (most are for Max) or comprehensive enough for a beginner or intermediate user to be able to follow. so i made one:

    http://www.lookinglass.us/vray4rhino...ender+Elements

hopefully it's useful. always looking to improve, please send your thoughts.

    Thanks Emil, very useful!

To Chaosgroup: there's some new features like the custom channels and some light properties that we can assign to those (from what I can tell from some trial and error tests)... is an updated help document on the way?

I read your tuto and it is very good. So, thank you for that. However, we had a bug on the render channel, where all of them where rendered with the wrong gamma. That is the reason why they are all overbright and you had to change the exposure. The good news is that we fixed the channel issue in our nightly builds and they are working fine now. You will not have to do anything. Another thing that we did to help with post is that the .tiff file format it is now 16bit by default. So, you can use it for post and still having a good dynamic range of color to work.

Thanks! I actually made that using 1.50 so I'll have to try again with 2.0 ... But I only use the edu version anyway (and so do my students of course) so I'm not going to see the benefit of the nightly fix anyway. Conceptually it's all good, people have to know that you can use the exposure tool to adjust brightness up and down anyway.
