How to accurately setup underwater view as seen through thick acrylic tunnel

I'm trying to accurately show what views through various underwater acrylic tunnels might look like, particularly distortion issues. I've read that acrylic has the same IOR as water (1.33) but does anyone have any accurate material settings for thick acrylic? Any feedback would be appreciated!
