  • wood reflection

I want to make a table with a wood map and a subtle reflection. I can make avery bright full reflection which looks good but if i turn down the reflection settings it gets less reflective but also has a lot of noise especially in the shadow parts.

    Anybody any idea?

I hope you can see an image now. It is an older image because my wood material messed up and i do not know why. I had to go back to an older saved version to get it right again. I sometimes have that. I change my settings and it starts to look really awfull and i cannot get back. Anyway i do not know the settings for this image but i hope you can see what i mean.

      Regards, René

That looks normal. Have you tried to reduce noise using the image sampler? What are your image sampler settings?

Maybe you can see what i mean on this rendering. especially the table in the back has a lot of white dots on it. My image sampler settings are min 1 and max 4. In teh materials i added a reflection map and turned down reflect to 0.6 in the glossiness section.Click image for larger version
