  • Vray Env Fog with Gizmo

    Hi,

I have set up a vray environment fog node for an interior scene. My scene is set to world scale and noticed i had to set the fog distance and fog height well into the 1000's for it to work. Is this normal?

Also, would it help my render time if I confined the fog node to a smaller gizmo box? How do I got about creating a gizmo and then connecting it to the fog environment node?

fog height is ignored with gizmos I think. The default fog distance is set to relatively small value, so when you apply it to a simple shape, you will see the effect. For subtle effect, it's normal to increase this a lot. It's always preferable to use gizmos to speed up the rendering, but if you put the camera inside a closed room, it doens't matter.

      Thank you.

Quick question... if I NEEDED to apply the Vray Env Fog to shape, where do I do that? I'm assuming somewhere in the shapes attributes??

VRayEnvironmentFog is a set, so object can be added to it and they will be used as fog gizmos.
