  • How do you comp in the bloom and glare pass when using multilayered EXR's

    Hey guys,

I have never really used the Bloom and Glare passes but I am getting some really nice results in my Renders.

I am wondering how everybody else comps the Bloom and Glare into their final renders as I am having some trouble replicating the desired effect using multipasses.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I have understood, the way they implemented it you need to blend it into your comp as "over", and adjust its opacity. Not really the most flexible way, but at least it is better than using add/screen (at least for larger blooms).
    Signing out,

Every time I use the Bloom & Glare layers, this just produces a replicant of the beauty but with the effects on top?

Am I doing something wrong here?

I swear in the past you could out put the Glare and Bloom onto black backgrounds, thus allowing us to put the layer on a screen. It just included the glare and bloom information and not all the bg?

This was answered elsewhere in the forums. You need to load the lens effect source and the bloomed pass and set it to difference in photoshop. This gives you the bloom only.
I swear it used to work like this also but anyway this gets you the desired effect.
