i hope, this is the right place to post it, cant find a better place.
Most of the time, before i hit render, i spend a lot of time to create IDs for Objects, Materials and afterwards Render Elements. Couldnt find a better way or a tool to get rid of it, maybe there is something, but maybe missed it. i mean the object, material and render ID are working, but the tend to change color from time to time plus i prefer rgb passes.
and to avoid all this struggle i wrote a small mel script, maybe its handy for someone here.
features:
assign IDs to all / selected Objects/Materials in the Scene.
Unique ID for every Object/Material or just one for all.
Create Multi Matte Elements for every ID in the scene (works also without assign them with the help of my script). Avoids duplicated IDs in the Multi Mattes
