multi id texture

What is the usage of this node? can i assign an id for a face randomly and a texture for any id?

You could assing the same material in different slots to different faces and then use "Face Material ID" mode. I've also added a few more modes for randomization:

I tought something like multitexture plugin of 3dsmax
