  • Photo Match for SU2015

    All,

I have read many threads from the past about how the photo match feature in SU will not work with a Vray render without some trickery. I am currently producing upwards of 20 renderings to show a scenic view analysis of a building along a freeway. I really need to be able to use the photomatch scenes I have created. I have Vray tools, but the recreate scene tool does not work, and the rendering in Vray does not match the actual view in SU.

Can anyone point to any tips or tricks that can solve my problem. I'm getting desperate. I don't like using podium, but I will if I have to, and their engine has no problem utilizing photo matched scenes.

    Bueller?

Try using an overlay in SketchUp to align the building. Then composite the two in post production.

"To do this try just setting up the background image as a watermark in SketchUp. That can be found in the Styles dialog box. Go to the edit tab, then choose the watermark settings and click on the plus sign to add a watermark. you can choose to add your photo as a background or overlay. choose whichever you would like, probably the background I would guess. Then manipulate your model to line up to the image." - Chris Fulmer

Heres a link to the original forum about this particular issue: https://sketchucation.com/forums/vie...p?f=15&t=12045

You should be able to match the aspect ration and align the images in post once you render.
