Been wanting something like this for a loooooong time, will def give it a go.
Is it possible to also "monochrome" the refractive materials? So if you have a green glass it can just be a grey glass or w/e?

Check the blog, I've added a little option to keep bump maps, opacity maps and displace maps as well!

Finally managed to give this a go, but doesnt seem to do anything for me.
I click "create override setup" and "go override" and everything still renders with original materials.
            What am I doing wrong?

              a) make sure you have the latest version from scriptspot.

Press the Create Override Setup button, and then select an object in your scene and look at the material, is it now a Shell_material?

                      http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/sc...rride-excluder

Fixed, it worked fine as long as you were using excluded objects in VRay's override material include/exclude list, but if you didn't have any in there it didn't know to use all the objects instead.

                      Should be fine now.
