beginners tutorials

hi folks, as part of my teaching activities we've put together a bunch of tutorials. they are aimed more at beginners and maybe just getting into intermediate level stuff, but i thought i'd share. it's a work in progress but please let me know your thoughts. we're working on creating a better organization for them, for one thing.
