  • Saving specific renderpass from frame buffer

How do you actually save only a specific pass from the vray frame buffer?

Everytime I hit the save button (which says "Save current channel") it saves ALL of the render channels I have defined within blender for output. Is there no way to only save eg. the rgb image directly from the frame buffer (Vray 3.20.03)?

I'm not sure if this is blender related or not (is there some setting in the exporter I have to change?) or if this is simply the general, expected behaviour. I find it annoying since I often only want to save the rgb pass but it automatically saves all the other 10 passes I want to look at during rendering as well. Which I then have to delete manually. Not a big issue of course but I don't think that's how it is supposed to be?

    Thanks in advance.

You can use Blender Render Output + [x] Separate Folders. That way your passes will go to own folders and your main rgb image is in the root folder, easy to pick up for postpro.

      Hi Chaosgroup,

I have placed this question in this thread because I don't know how to start a new one.

I was wondering if it was possible to stop the Vray Frame buffer from resizing to its original size when I hit render, this does not happen on Mental ray or Scanline and I'm just wondering if there is a setting I can change to stop this because it is extremely annoying.

If you need clarification on what I mean please ask.

      Thanks.
