Hello,
can someone explain in basic erms what irradiance maps are, why they are good and how they can save time rendering?
I have a big 'drive thru' type animation to render out, and I played with VRay, believing it would take a while to do the first frame, but thereafter it would sail through them...only..it took the same time on each frame!
I went back to using the Max lightpainter in the end, but I'd like to understand what happened with VRay.
Thanks!
