Just to clarify: Affect Environment Rays will not affect whether or not the aerial perspective will show up in render elements. This option will make rays that directly hit the environment be affect by the aerial effect. Example: you have a cube on the scene and nothing else - everything else shows up from the background (environment) texture. This will control whether the aerial will affect the cube only or will also affect the bg texture.
Now for the render element - it is still WIP on our end. Hopefully it will be there soon. I'll update you when it is.

I wanted to control it color in postpro so I tested render passes. I realised that its possible to use many atmospheric effects at the same time (different heights etc) and it creates nice effects. Its also very fast effect.
