Wanted to share a video I made that outlines a process we use for projecting a complex rendered CG set onto simplified geo as HDR maps.
Because we are replacing hundreds, sometimes thousands, of complex geometry and hi-res textures with only a few, this technique provides accurate GI and reflection integration, while dramatically speeding up render times.
