Materials Black

First of all, let me state that I am a newb to VRAY so i am sure that this is a simple fix.

I start a vray material and it is black in the Material editor which also means that it previews black in the window but it renders fine. Please help!

Also are ther any great "I'm new" to vray tutorials out there?

For 3dMax5: Open Material Editor >Options > Options > Renderer(check current:VRay render)
