Fur with smooth curves

Hello,

how can I make fur/hair strand a curve rather than a segmented line?
In Cycles you have an option for that, in VRay it got replaced by Fur tab and there is no longer an option for curves.
I looked on this forums, on https://github.com/bdancer/vb30/wiki, Googled..

Turn "B-Spline" on.
