Roof question

just a genral question really, if your doing exteriors do you use actual geometry for the roof or do you use displacement, pesronally i use geometry but was wandering what other people use

depends on how close you're getting to the roof. also depends a lot on the roof type.

when dealing with tile roofs, sometimes i can get away with a disp map, but other times i need to do fully modeled
