  • Reflection problem

Hi guys i have a problem with this scene. As you can see the top part of the window is having the reflection quite nicely, but then it suddenly cuts into white. can anyone help e out with this. can figure out why it does this. My material is vray. With hdri as enviroment.

    Well thx in advance..

    Hi

well if it has nothing to reflect then you will see nothing !

also drag and drop the hdri into the vray reflection overide underneath vray enviroment.

      hey mate

I have also put the hdri in the vray reflection overide. And the result is the picture in the above post. I think its reflecting the ground. Isnt there a way to make the two reflection transtion smooth, insted of the sudden change to white.

I think i got it. To make it smooth i got the value of the material glossiness to 0,8 instead of 1,0. But then the render time is doubled. Well is it right what am doing.

Have you mapped your hdr as Spherical ?

Make your ground smaller. Try using a disc instead of a plane/box, and put a gradient ramp in the opacity slot of the ground material. That way it will fade out nicely.

You should also lower your reflection Subdivs to something like 6-12 if you're not using Interpolation.
