  • Frosted glass - need help

    Does enyone knows how to create frosted glass, but with the other side reflective (like glass on kitchen unit doors). Thanks!

    Does your geometry have thicknes or is it just facing in one direction?

      Well, it has. It's a window on kitchen unit with about 5mm thickness.
      I wll try the glossy refractions and see what's happening. I was hoping that someone could solve my lazyness

        you just need to create a sub-object material .. one mat for the front and one for the back...

                  frosted material should also have glossy reflections.

                    not neccessarly. Take a look on some frosted glass window and you would notice that it almost have no reflections. You would just kill time with more glossy reflections that wouldn't be visible at all.

                      I know it doesn't reflect much, but reflect it does.. and them reflection's being low gloss.. It looks nicer, and turn down subdivs for less render time.

                      I guess it's also a matter of priority, if it isn't a vital part of a design or composition reflections could be turned off.

                      Ofcourse reflections being glossy or not depends on which surface you look at, the frosted or the non-frosted.

                      Nothing like silky glass though.
