  • reducing rendering time for animation

    Hi,
First of all thanx to Natty, yage, Da_elf & other members for great tips & tuts!
They helped me get out of black renders

Now I`m triing to put together an interior flytrough animation. Any suggestions how to go down with frame time are welcomed.

    Some datas to scene
    -5 Vraylights
    -AA -Adaptive -1/2
-1st bounce irrad map(saved for appr. each 10th frame)
    -2nd bounce -QMC
    -DOF

    dont use DOF.
    or use XDOF plugin instead.
    Reflect, repent and reboot.
    Order shall return.

you could adjust the noise value your QMC settings to something slightly higher (say 0.05) which will speed things up.

adaptive AA may be the fastest option in your case but also try adaptive QMC using 1-4 for values (sometimes quicker for detailed scenes)

double check that for materials, the glossy subdivisions arnt set too high. sometimes 5 or the default of 8 is enough

check the IR map settings. i am using the default medium animation preset with hem subs of 70 and interp 20 these days

in global settings limit the reflections etc

there is a lot you can do but all of these things above are based on comments made by others on this forum, from vray info and osmosis tute etc
