  • glossy reflection settings....help

I have done a search and cant find any helpful info on creating glossy reflections on materials. v 1.09 viz4

    What I have done:

tried several different reflection settings, ie - 50,50,50 - 10,10,10 etc
changed from 1 to .6 all the way down to .1

I also added some falloff in the reflection slot.

BUT I DONT SEE ANY REAL CHANGES.... just seems to get a bit duller. nothing like the great examples out there on the image uploads sections.

    any advice?

Actually i don´t really understand wich values you are refering to.
But to get a glossy reflection just assign a vray material.
Set the reflection to white (or something) and set your glossiness
value to something below 1. That´s it.

If you want a specific material effect maybe a picture would be helpful.
Just turning on glossiness doesn´t mean it will look like
a carmetal shader immediately .. for example

        cheers

This scene has way too much illumination on all objects. Too much will kill reflections ultimately. There are reflections on the wood and floor but is being attenuated by by the lighting.
