  • speeding up glossy reflections and refraction?

    anyone know any easy tips on speeding up glossy reflections and refraction?
    I looked through the tips section but coldent find anything.

    I have a project coming up that needs about 600+ glowing lightbulbs!

    No Problem,


    Just by 50 Computers, this shoud speed it up realy.

    just joking


    glossys seem to be now the most time consuming part of rendering, also slower as gi .

      Use adaptive QMC for AA.

      And just let them be somewhat noisy, the client doesn't notice this anyway, only we vray nerds will spot noise in the glossies. Usually when people see noisy glossies they find it cool because they think it's some kind of bump

        Lower max reflections from 5 to 2 or 3 depending on what you can get away with.

        Yep - use small bump and a falloff map instead of glossy.
