  • Gradient Texture Help

Is is possible to create a gradient texture that starts at a color and transitions to a transparency rather than a color? My intention is to have a pane of glass with the bottom as a white fog that fades up to just glass. Is there a better method for this?

    Hi Kraig,

Set the Diffuse color to white and put the Gradient map in the Refraction slot. Use custom gradient, set the type to V and the interpolation to linear. The black of the gradient will keep the diffuse color, the white will create the transparency, and the grey will create the fading...
Try to create it by yourself. If you can't, I will send you a sample material.

    Best,

Thank You! Just what I was looking for.. the effect wasn't what I was going for so I swapped the gradient into the Refraction Glossiness and I got the desired effect.
