  • Cosmos in Maya

Is there an option not to bring/load the textures into the Hypershade and turn into a gigantic mess, since I'm not going to tweak any settings on any shaders?
And LODs where are they? Trees for example , do they come with LODs or this only means displaying them as bounding boxes in Geometry to load tab? Maya 2023 Vray 5 windows 11

Hi, probably something like the idea that stezza suggested here? Are you both talking about the same thing?

Hi Vladimir, no the other posts are about cleaning up the nodes left behind after "Optimize scene" in Maya, I'm asking if there's a way to not upload the textures into the Hypershade when
you import a Cosmo asset, I still want the proxy to render with the textures of course, is that possible ?
      Thanks

Hi sorry but I still do not understand the issue. Here is how my Hypershade looks like after importing a Cosmos tree:

That's what I mean Vladimir, Hyperhade "TEXTURES" area gets populated with all the shading nodes, one single tree might have 4 shaders and about 20 textures, imagine when you are working on one environment is
a nightmare trying to stay organized. I wish there was a way of not importing the shading network since I'm not tweaking any proxy shaders and if I need a specific one that is not working quite right I could re-import that one with the
shaders so I could modify if I want. I think if there was a check box somewhere where you could tic > "do not import shading network" , that would be for any assets , cars, people, furniture, any Cosmos asset...that would be fantastic.
Unless I'm not aware of a setting or option in the Cosmos browser, I look into it but did not find anything.

And currently, if you delete a few tree proxies , these nodes stay behind after you do an "Optimize Scene Size"

          Thanks for looking into this.

Hi, there does not seem to be a workaround to this. Please log a feature request in our ideas portal. If more users join and vote for this improvement we will consider developing it if possible (it may be a limitation on Maya's side).

Okay Vladimir, thanks for asking around, I'll make a proper request then. Cheers.
