  • Chaos Cosmos common network saving path

    Hello,

Is there a way to use a network path to save the Chaos Cosmos downloaded assets, since they are saved on the workstation computer, i cannot use farm rendering or DR without collecting the assets to a project folder.

    Tks!

    Hi brunonz,

Chaos Cosmos does not currently support network asset storage.
    https://www.chaosgroup.com/support/f...-network-setup

This is something we are working on.
Until then, the workaround is to collect the assets inside a project folder just as you described.

    Best regards,

      +1 for network asset repository.
Have try letter path to a shared network drive (like O:\\folder\) but doesn't work either.

Also, would be nice if we could set chaos account credentials automatically, so we don't have to go on each machine or give everyone our chaos account login/pass. Didn't tried copying cert and key file, would it work ?

        Hi KiboOst,
All users will have to login with chaos accounts in order to use Cosmos. Copying cert and key file will not work in this case.
Creating a chaos account is really easy so I hope this will not be much of a problem.

          Regards,
Sure, I though this account would need some vray5 licence linked to so it works.
Will create a new general account and pass it to users.
Still, would be cool to be able to automatically set this to avoid asking every single user to log manually.

            Hi KiboOst,

We will work to optimize the login process even more.
It might require some time to get there on our side.

Errrr that link says YES, we can use network paths. What am I missing here?
So can we, or can we not setup a shared location for assets to be downloaded to?
              Kind Regards,
              Morne

                Morne hey,

Yes, you can save assets to a shared network path - this can be set from the Cosmos Browser’s settings.

The option wasn’t available a while back (when the quoted message was posted), but we’ve made it possible and the info in our docs page is updated and correct.

Does this work for Vray for Sketchup?

Do you have the link to these instructions? Thanks.
