  • Cosmos uninstaller

    Hi Chaos.
I have no plans to use Cosmos (Galaxy) service. Especially I dont like it running as a Windows Service.

How can I avoid installing it?

Now I Uninstall it with windows tools:

But uninstaller does not remove few files (galaxyImporterXXXX.gup in particular). Without removing them 3ds max is using 2 CPU threads all the time with just fresh max load:

So I would just remove the file and no problems, won't even waste Your time reporting it if not the issue with Max22, which reports missing problematic GUP file on its startup.

Do I need to edit XML too ?

    Hello,

Recently we've identified and fixed an issue that causes high CPU usage when there's a problem connecting to the Cosmos Browser service (or it is uninstalled as in your case). It is fixed in our internal builds and will soon go to the public stable builds.

In the mean time - yep you'll probably need to edit the XML.

    Best regards,
