    +1...even if I get it working, it breaks within a day or hours...

      For example...it was fine an hour ago. Then it was broken when opened. So, I closed max and opened a new max session. Next, I launched the cosmos and is now working again.
      What is going on?
      I'm glad I didn't remove and re-install it again.

      Thanks

        The steps taken:

        1. I opened cosmos browser, added a sofa to my scene.
        2. Closed cosmos browser.
        3. De-select sofa object.
        4. Opened cosmos browser hoping to now choose an armchair.

        Result:
        Cosmos browser opens, with some partially loaded GUI, and after about a minute of waiting, gave me the terrible white screen...

        Can this please be resolved? (I assume exiting and restarting max is not the intended method of use.)
        Thanks

        I've already submitted a ticked which included my CB.log
        So far, support has asked me to send my CB.log

          Okay, this time, while waiting for the cosmos browser to "load" max just crashed to desktop without a warning or any message.
          So mad.
          For now, I am abandoning this once useful cosmos browser.

            Hey guys,

            Sorry to hear you're experiencing such issues. Can you check if you have the cbservice processes running by going to Task Manager > Processes and see if you're able to find Chaos Cosmos Browser Service. If they're not running, try starting them from the Windows Start menu by typing 'Start Chaos Cosmos Browser Service'.

            If that doesn't make any difference, best would be to schedule a remote session so we can troubleshoot on the spot. voltron7, I've managed to find your ticket in our system and unfortunately my colleague is out of office so I'll have a look at the logs and get back to you ASAP. glorybound, we've released an update since the latest issues you were facing that should've fixed them. If they are remaining, do get in touch so we can schedule a remote session with you as well. Much appreciated!

              I am not seeing cbservice and running Start Chaos Cosmos Browser Service didn't change anything.

                Hello and thanks for replying...
                Today, of course, it has been behaving normally.
                I checked and there are 2 processes.
                Is this correct? (Attached.)

                  Yep, both of these should be always working on startup. If you encounter any other issues, you can always get in touch. glorybound, have you tried re-installing V-Ray/Chaos Cosmos to see if that makes any difference, and are you available for a remote session? If so, please drop us a line.

                      Can you go to
                      C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Chaos Cosmos\Packages and delete the cpkg.db file? Restart 3ds max, try running Chaos Cosmos and see if there is any difference.

                          Have you tried changing the assets download location directly through the config file? Can you please share it with us, you can find it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ChaosCosmos config.json along with the cb.log file. Much appreciated.

                              Hm, well looks like the working dir is set to OneDrive, while the updates/database directories are not indicated at all. Is it possible to edit the config file (via a text editor) and place the default directories, it should look something like this:
                              Code:
                              {
                              "automatic_updates": true,
                              "port": "30305",
                              "tls_port": "30306",
                              "tls_cert_file": "",
                              "tls_cert_key": "",
                              "working_dir": "C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\Documents\\Chaos Cosmos",
                              "database_dir": "C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\Documents\\Chaos Cosmos",
                              "updates_dir": "C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\Documents\\Chaos Cosmos\\Updates",
                              "proxy": {
                              "type": "auto",
                              "host": "",
                              "port": 0,
                              "user": "",
                              "password": ""
                              }
                              }
                              Just make sure that the %username% corresponds to the account name using the machine (it should have read/write access to those places as well). Restart the host app and give it another shot. Should you need to change the assets download directory, you can do so directly from the Chaos Cosmos Browser afterwards.
