  • Changing material and download path

    Hey there
first I would love to express the admire for the cosmo library
as one of the main problems we face in Revit is that we can't find fine detailed families in it
and it's complicated to get objects from other programs like 3ds max and more complicated to assign materials for it in Revit
so Cosmo is a really very great step in Revit
I find it as one of the best things V-ray made and I really love it
however, there is currently some issue I hope you can help me with

is it possible to change the materials for cosmo objects? and how?

also, I'd like to know how to change the downloading path for cosmo objects

    thanks in advance

    Hi arch_mado ,

We are happy to hear from you!
In the current V-Ray for Revit version, you can't change Cosmos objects materials. This is something we are working on for our next update.

Here are instructions how to change the download dir: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...load+Directory

        Hi stefan_haehnlein1 ,

Cosmos doesn't support network locations yet. Though we have this in the list.
You can join this thread's discussion on the topic.

When I follow the instructions to change the path for downloaded chaos objects and after I restart the CCBService service I get the previous problem of the white empty screen for cosmo which makes me uninstall cosmo and reinstall the vray so the path resets to the default location

            Hi Ahmed,

Are you switching it to a local drive or a network one?
When writing the path, can you make sure you use double slashes like in that example "working_dir":"C:\\Users\\Ana\\Documents\\Chao s Cosmos"

            Best,
            Ana

                  Hello guys,

The Cosmos browser has just been updated and network drives are now officially supported.
More details can be found in the following thread by Kalina.
