  • Simplified planting assets in non-rendered 3D view

Is it possible when viewing a scene in regular Hidden Line to display Cosmos planting assets in a simplified form, like the Revit RCP trees do?

    Hi JP,

This is not possible yet. We've been working to provide a solution to it though.

In the meantime, there are various workarounds.
    1. The easiest one is to replace the native Revit families with Cosmos assets only at render time. Thus, you can use the stylized trees on your floor plans and elevations, but replace them with Cosmos when you render them.
    2. You can edit the family generated by Chaos Cosmos. In the family editor, create a masking region for the vertical projections and set the visibility of the family geometry to 3D view only. You can reuse the family in other projects, so it's a one time effort.
    3. From Revit's Object Styles, you can modify the Planting graphics and basically match their line color with their shading color. Then set the visual style of the view to "Consistent Colors" (see attached image). This works pretty well out of the box. However, you might need to modify the graphics of all the rest of the Revit elements.

    Best,
    Ana
