Hello,
Testing Envision, I see potential with the program. The overall workflow makes sense to my firm's needs, as our designer work mostly in Enscape and need our assistance to create animations quickly and efficiently. This also means they want as much time for design iterations as possible, and the prospect of having the design updated via new .vrscenes is a powerful tool.
However, here are some areas where we hope Envision adds / improves during the beta process:

Testing Envision, I see potential with the program. The overall workflow makes sense to my firm's needs, as our designer work mostly in Enscape and need our assistance to create animations quickly and efficiently. This also means they want as much time for design iterations as possible, and the prospect of having the design updated via new .vrscenes is a powerful tool.
However, here are some areas where we hope Envision adds / improves during the beta process:
- Cloud / Batch Animation Workflow / Solution. It would be great if there was a way to send a series of animations at once to one computer. It especially helps if we need to render overnight, and we don’t have to be up starting one render at a time. The solution could be being able to send envision scenes to Chaos Cloud. We explored putting all the clips on the timeline; however, our editors prefer all the clips separated.
- Animation Render time. While still renderings are quick, when compared the competitors the frame time for animations is slow and from our testing. We’ve had to bump the samples up to deal with GI / Glass refraction issues to receive desirable results. I’m hoping we get access to advanced settings to see if we can tune our scene to achieve results quicker.
- Would love to be able to put add an environment background without it being a skylight. We have situations where we want to use the built-in sky/sun system but the actual background we want to be a custom image. For instance, we have interiors where we have a custom 360 photo, but we don’t want that photo affecting the lighting. Bonus would be if the background could be an animated movie. We shoot a lot of drone and would great not to have to add the background back in post.
Items I’m hoping are being addressed during the beta process:
- Masks for Animations. Very important to us and this was our biggest issue with Enscape as we couldn’t make simple color correct adjustments in post for animations.
- Light controls such as making added scene lights invisible
