i have the option to add points, but not the option to remove a point... selecting a point and hitting delete doesn't work

Hi arno, you can delete them by navigating to Edit - Delete Control points, I believe this is a temporary solution.

The ability to delete control points using keyboard/ui is logged as EC-1585.
Additionally, we have the ability to undo the creation of control points (a'la Photoshop or 3ds Max Backspace key) logged as EC-1584.
