  • UI bug - cache & Color Mapping

    Hello
Nothing critical, but we've found an UI bug.
Here's my step to reproduce it (CP 2.10.00 on windows)

    - open an EXR sequence
    - enable Preload into cache => The loading bar is showing which frame is cached
    - changing Color Mapping > look up table (from None to OCIO,Aces)
    - now the loading bar is disabled BUT the frame are still being preload into caches
    - you can switch the color mapping to check the global progress of the preload

    Thanks !

Hey, thanks for the report. If I understand it correctly, it's a known behavior that we plan to improve in the future.
It's not exactly a UI bug, but part of the design - Player keeps separate caches of both versions of the same sequence - with and without the changed color mapping setting.
It actually needs to complete the caching for the sequence before color mapping was changed to start caching the same sequence after the color mapping.

It's something we can optimize in the future to optimize caching speed and memory consumption.

I hope this makes sense, thanks again for the report, I'll add your vote to fixing it.
