    As cool as Lavina is, there will be a time when we need to do offline post. Are things like multimatte output and other render elements etc planned?

    We don't want to turn it to a V-Ray alternative. The idea is to be a great Viewer with some extras, for now.
    If it was that easy, it would have already been done

      Users always find another use for whatever your intent was.

      Lavina looks like an Unreal replacement to us currently (we only use Unreal for realtime rendering). We use Unity for AR and VR

      Also, Lavina is so fast, why cant we just get that functionality in VRay for Max?

        If you would support every vray feature, it won't be as fast anymore.
        masks would be something that should really be considered though! I see Lavina more as a visualization tool for animations than a viewer too

          I'm assuming that some kind of additional render elements will be needed sooner or later (z-depth, normals etc). Masks would be relatively easy to do as some kind of additional render pass. At least, so long as you don't want full Cryptomatte support

            Yes, masks would be great.
            If you implement them as an option (of course you would do) users can decide if they are ok with some (mili)seconds extratime.
