  • Awesome!

I just finished a scene with all the bells and whistles, and it all worked perfectly. The export was fast and so was opening it. Once it opened, everything was there, including all my Forest Pro and Railclone elements. I am not sure how I would use this, but I'll be sure to continue to play around with it. The HDRI environment worked better than it does in MAX, too.

Could be nice to build a base version of your scene and then do an interactive session with a client over skype or similar to choose angles that show off their builds - then you can work up the final image based on those agreed angles?

I am not sure what the difference would be from IPR unless there was an external player. Rendering out a walkthrough is still rendering frame by frame, so I am a little stumped.

Rendering out snapshots turns off the denoiser and usually increases the samples for quality. If you're OK with you interactive quality, you could always just record it real-time via a screen capture utility.

I was thinking about that. I do have Camtasia.

            The interaction speed, Bobby.

Compared to CPU or GPU rendering (even with RTX), this will be faster, because it has a much smaller feature set, because it's designed from the ground up to take advantage of RT cores through DXR, and because it doesn't have to depend on a host application's messaging system to function.

It will not, by design, support as many features as the "offline" renderers, so you can consider it an external viewer on steroids.

This is without a doubt an 'external viewer on steroids'.
However....there are tonnes of applicable money making uses for this sort of speedy awesomeness.
Thanks, Chaos dudes, for making it
It also makes me feel less stupid for buying a 2080ti rtx which effectively now is just a gaming card, as my chip renders quicker, making GPU pointless for me apart from this.

The speed when turning down denoiser to around 6-10 from 50, makes cleanness of image relative to movement and interaction insanely fast compared to IPR! Well at least with my single 2080 TI, guys lucky enough to have several Titan RTXs probably are a little less excited than I, and can't tell the difference between instant and instant.Lucky!

                  "The interaction speed"

yes it is so amazing smooth in navigation,
even with huge files, far more smooth than the view ports here of my 3d apps. (c4d, max rhino) of such big files
