  • Batch render multple camera's

    Hi Chaos Group,

First, Lavina is really superb, we can do light set-ups much quicker and it keeps getting better each month.
    A few requests:
    - Is it possible to add some sort of batch render so you can render multiple stills?
    - Is it possible to render a cubemap, now we have a workaround where we add an animation cam with six frames, rotation of 90 deg with an FOV of 90 (with exporting we need to add an extra frame otherwise it only renders five?? Bug?).
    - Is it possible to add an custom HDRI and exposure settings to each cam?
    - We experimented with extreme large scenes and i must say it handles it better than max, but is it possible to add forestcolor and forest edge detection to it? We have an problem with grass flowing over the edges when exporting, but the grass area is too large for the detailed forest.
    - Is there a possibility to reduce dimension size, like when exporting to Lavine, max texture size is 4K? This because we noticed that our Video RAM is enormous with large scenes, but after optimizing the textures it is a lot better.
    - Is it possible to add an auto adjuster to the viewport size so that fps always is more than x fps? Now we have to do it manually everytime Lavina starts (and i've noticed it always start at 720p) but sometimes we have to reduce size to 400pixels wide.
    - Is it possible to add fog to transparancy? Water materials don't look good without it.
    - And as requested earlier, is it possible to have a simple material adjuster in it? Just some brightness, contrast, hue, reflection and gloss parameters. And maybe also a slot for replacing the textures (sort of override slot)
    - And last but not least, displacement support would be great.

If some of the things mentioned above could be implemented, the program would really be extremely usable for us. If you can implement it all, than it would be a no brainer to us for choosing vray always in favour of other render engines.

Many thanks and keep up the fantastic work!

    Kind regards,

    Thanks for the wish-list Christian.
You will be happy to learn than the majority of what you're requesting is either being worked on right now or is on our work plan for version 1.
We would be very interested in a "rank order" of your list, to show what you value the most. This will help us produce the most valuable features first. Could you post that please?

    Kind regards,

    - Phil

      Hi Phil,

Many thanks for the reply and below our most wanted list in "rank order":

1th Batch render and saving settings like HDRI and Exposure to a camera.
      2nd Cubemaps are secondary.
      3th Displacement third.
      4th Fog fourth.
      5th Forest color and edge.
      6th Reduced dimension size.
      7th Material adjuster.

Many thanks for giving us users a vote in this!
