  • Animated poly in Vantage

    Hi everyone

I am just testing Vantage since a bit of time now and I have to admit its awesome!

I m always trying to push forward what I am actually testing and now I am facing with this issue:
I am trying to open/merge an animated object, lets say an animated flag, into Vantage. Flag is baked and keyframed but there s no way to make it work in Vantage..it s stucked at the first keyframe.
I am also trying to open/merge a Phoenix FD liquid simulator, just a cap mesh with small details, into Vantage..no way. I tried also baking it but Vantage doesn t seem to read it in a proper way..liquid simulator is invisible.
I would appreciate your help to solve this issue.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Luca,

I am trying to open/merge an animated object, lets say an animated flag, into Vantage. Flag is baked and keyframed but there s no way to make it work in Vantage..it s stucked at the first keyframe.
Currently Vantage doesn't support deformable mesh animations only animated transforms(move, scale, rotate) will import and will be viewed when you go through the timeline. As you pointed out for deformable meshes only the first frame of the animation will be imported and that will stay throughout the timeline. We will improve that in future builds but I cannot give an ETA on it. There are other topic with the same issue in the forum you can check : Deforming/alembic geo, How to get animation data into Lavina (Noise animation for trees), Character animation in project lavina

I am also trying to open/merge a Phoenix FD liquid simulator, just a cap mesh with small details, into Vantage..no way. I tried also baking it but Vantage doesn t seem to read it in a proper way..liquid simulator is invisible.
Phoenix simulations currently can only be imported if they are converted into a solid object and again like the issue above only a single frame can be imported. If you use the VRayInstancer with the Phoenix simulation or add an Edit Poly modifier in the Liquid simulator that has Mesh preview enabled, you can import that in Vantage. Here is an example of "lava" in Vantage:

Hi, we have a scene with some animated geometry modifiers. When exporting it into Vantage, it only shows the animated camera and the first frame of each object remains.
Do you have plans to fix it in a future update?

      Best Regards,

        Hi Andreia,

Yes animated geometry(vertex deformations) are not yet supported but we have it logged and is in the TO DO list but no ETA at the moment We will inform you when there is some development.

        Best regards,
