Hi there! I bought Vray for c4d and Vantage but I had to find out that the C4d vr.scan file cannot be read by Vantage yet. I waited 1 year for vray 5 for C4D and finally hoped for VR. Could you please tell me until when the Import will be available ? I Pay for a product that doesn't work at all! Thank you very much

As I can see forum there is already a live link for max and Sketchup and nothing for C4d!
But of course materials will come out pink due to the special .vrscene objects that deal with Cinema4D's material tags.
I'd like to know what the timeline on using C4d VrScene files in Vantage will be too.

Hi vladimir.nedev ,
Thanks for the fast reply.
Can you keep us posted on the completion of this update please?
It would be brilliant to demo this out to customers using our in house C4d scenes!
Thanks,
Mark

But you just have to enable "distributed rendering" in V-Ray for Cinema4D, disable "Use local machine" and enter a Render Host for "localhost" on port 20701 (the Vantage default unless you change it).
Then start interactive rendering.
Vantage has to be running.

Hello can we import vr.scenen from other platforms in c4d vray?
Can we then send the scene back to C4d during livesync from c4d to vantage?
When in "live link", you are allowed to edit the scene only on the Cinema 4D side, so there is nothing to send back.

We are still thinking of ways how to enable it.
Most likely, when we do enable it, changing the lights will create "overrides/layers" inside Vantage, which you can activate in Vantage only.
I am not sure we will be able to add syncing the data back to Cinema4D.
For this, you will have to keep editing the lights in Cinema 4D itself, that's part of the reason we developed the live link after all - so you can keep all/most your data in the original DCC scene file.

Do you get the live link indicator in the Vantage status bar (I've marked it in the attached screenshot) ?
Also, if the live link is successful, you will get a blue border around the Vantage viewport.
Can you check the V-Ray for C4D log for any errors/warnings ?
My guess is that no connection is getting established.

The live link is now working, if the materials and light can still be seen now it would be great.
Thank youLast edited by Wohnraumdesign; 08-02-2021, 03:58 PM.
