  • Vrscene size

When I export a vrscene containing Forest/Railclone objects, I wonder what the exporter actually does.
If, as I suspect, it creates Vray proxies of those objects, does it know to delete the original objects Forest uses to instance from but are not actually visible?

I don't think the exporter automatically creates V-Ray Proxies for Forest instances.

does it know to delete the original objects Forest uses to instance from but are not actually visible?
I believe the exporter doesn't include hidden objects in the .vrscene file.
It doesn't matter too much anyway.
Since they are instances, there is only a tiny bit of information - the transform, material and user properties.
The mesh vertices/faces/normals/etc are shared between all instances, whether they are Forest instances or normal instances.

But I am not working on the .vrscene exporter in V-Ray for 3ds Max, so that question is better suited for the V-Ray for 3ds Max sub-forum.

Ok thanks. It's just that I'm needing to share a vantage scene with a client who does not have Forest etc, so wanted to ensure I give the smallest file possible.
